Working in Dublin and Irish luck with the weather
Life Irrigation travelled to the Emerald Isle for an interesting install job, whilst taking in some Dublin culture. And it looks like we also had a bit of the Irish luck on our side with the weather.
It couldn’t have been a more perfect day to be leaving the UK – with severe rain and flood warnings sounding through the airwaves, we left London in search of clearer skies on the Emerald Isle.
A road trip in the UK is often risky, but throw in the added ingredient of a deadline to catch a boat and things can get really exciting! We certainly weren’t disappointed and lost an hour on the M6. We were caught up in traffic that was at a standstill for seemingly no reason. We didn’t let it get to us and carried on and just made the boat – just!!
After checking into our hotel in Dublin, it was a meal at a local pub and an early night, as the trip had taken it out of us.
Early Tuesday morning I was introduced to the site and was really impressed by the design. There was even to be an 8″ television screen placed in an outside wall. Amazing!
The rain was scarce and the weather was warm so we got stuck into the task at hand. With Dave and Scooby running pipes and digging trenches, Paul installed the computer and the pump. Ronen oversaw proceedings and made sure there was plenty of coffee for everyone, amongst other things.
Dublin is a wonderful city, with a great history, so each evening, we searched for a new restaurant and visited a few tourist attractions.
We didn’t run into any problems so we freed up enough time to visit a property from a previous trip to do so some minor repairs.
Our Irish luck with the weather ran out and we got a lashing on the last day. We didn’t let it phase us though and finished up and tested our newest system.
That night, we reflected on our week and prepared for the long drive home.
